Filiberto, J., Musselwhite, D. S., Gross, J., Burgess, K., Le, L., & Treiman, A. H. (2010). Experimental petrology, crystallization history, and parental magma characteristics of olivine‐phyric shergottite NWA 1068: Implications for the petrogenesis of “enriched” olivine‐phyric shergottites. Meteoritics & Planetary Science45(8), 1258-1270.

Using an inverse experimental approach, geologists have recognized olivine-phyric basaltic shergottites as a significant subgroup of Martian meteorites. The authors of this article performed several experiments including high pressure and 1 bar (restrain low-pressure). They analyzed several major and minor elements and used water analysis. The results showed that with high pressure, the crystalization of parental magma was replicated. This experiment was successful in recreating Marian basalt.
