Where have you seen geology in your everyday life?
I think this is the most accurate example of the Geology I see in my “everyday life”. This is the Salt Lake valley. I live in South Jordan, so my house should be somewhere in this photo or close to it. I see these mountains on a daily basis. I’m grateful to witness such marvelous formations every day.
I don’t know the names of the mountains, or anything, but they provide me with some great hikes! These other two photos are from a hike I went on recently in Twin Peaks Wilderness about a half an hour away from my house. I thought some of the rocks looked really cool. There were some cool red rocks and thin shale rocks. Most of the rocks were sedimentary.
One of my favorite parts of hiking is getting to the top and looking down at where I came. At the top of this particular hike, it was neat to see the canyon we hiked up. A lot of the canyon seemed to be carved out by the river near the trail head. I forgot what the river was called, sorry.
