Homework

Holy cow, what a week it’s been for me. I don’t recall anything happening on Monday.. besides watching the LONG AWAITED HOBBIT 3!! It was alright…

On Tuesday, I checked online for something school related and unexpectedly, I found that I already had tons of homework due for the next 2 days (school started Wednesday). So I did about a total of 20 hrs of homework for my first 3 days of school.. I’ve already written a 2-3 page narrative essay for English and a 1500 word paper for communications.. The rest was full of reading assignments, quizzes, PowerPoints, HTML coding, and editing my twitter account (weird, right?). Needless to say, it’s been a bit overwhelming. There’s definitely a lot more work involved in college! It’s a good thing I gained a work ethic on my mission xD

Planning is going to come into handy a TON this semester. It seems like everyone in the school (including teachers) hates the website the school uses to do.. basically everything. It’s how we turn in assignments, it’s where we receive them and the instructions are given, it has the syllabus for each class, and a whole bunch of other things… AND IT”S ORGANIZED TERRIBLY. I think I’ve spent hours just on the website alone digging through material making sure I actually did everything I was supposed to and there’s nothing I missed. Even still, I’m not confident I have xD The problem I seem to have with all these assignments is that there’s “preparation” assignments and then there’s “prove your knowledge” assignments. Meaning, there’s assignments you need to complete before you come into class and there’s ones you need to do after class but before the next class.. therefore, ALL OF THEM ARE OVERLAPPING EACH OTHER lol. It’s super hard to keep track of. I’ll figure it out eventually. I’m just glad I put all of my assignments in a little reminders app on my phone last week. It’s proven to be extremely helpful. (BTW, some good accountability apps you can get when you’re at home are “2Do”, “Talley” [they only have that for the phone, though.. they need to make an iPad version], apple calendar, and I’ve found “fitbit” to be helpful, too.. but of course you need to own a fitbit first).
Other than the excessive amounts of homework, school has been fine. I like all of my classes. Two of them are social media marketing classes. It’s weird that we’ll be using Twitter for both of the classes. I had to revamp my twitter account before I revealed it to my teachers because I only used it to update people on live-streams I was doing and YouTube videos I released xD
